The Broward County Mosquito Control Section will conduct larvicide spraying in areas of Hollywood and Pembroke Pines from Monday, August 31 through Friday, September 4, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.
Truck-mounted sprayers will apply VectoBac WDG between 10PM and 6AM as a proactive measure to target the larvae of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes, which can spread diseases including dengue, yellow fever and chikungunya.
Residents and business owners can help by eliminating standing water around their properties. Check and empty buckets, tires, planters, birdbaths, fountains and other water-holding containers, as well as plants such as bromeliads and traveler’s palms.
